William Mauro, 85, of Douglas, formally of Southborough and Yarmouth Port, passed away at home, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 after a period of declining health.
He was the beloved husband of Constance (Hammond) Mauro for over 66 years, and the youngest son of the late Ursula (Pessolano) and Joseph Mauro.
Willie attended the former Peter’s High School in Southborough before graduating from Marlborough Trade School. For many years he was the proprietor and operator of Mauro’s Market in Southborough.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Cheryl Mauro of Douglas; Steve Mauro and his wife Teresa of Grafton; his sister in laws, Sandra Driscoll of GA; Joan Aselbekian of Southborough; Ann Marie “Connie” Mauro of Southborough; his 6 grandchildren; Emilee King and her husband Eric; Rene Jolly and her husband, Steve; Rachel Mercer; Shawn Mauro and his wife, Kasey; Eric Mauro; Amie Kaldas and her husband, Dan; his 5 great grandchildren: Ryan Jolly; Aleigha Martinson; Lilly, Teagan and Troy Mauro; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Calvin and John Mauro.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 20, from 4 to 7pm at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21 at 11 am at Pilgrim Church, Common Street, Southborough. If you are attending the funeral service masks are required in the church. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
