  • Outdoor Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library’s back lawn: Join Miss Kim on the lawn (weather permitting) for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Please bring a blanket or chair. No registration required.

  • Children’s Book Illustrator virtual talk (3:00 – 3:00 pm) @ zoom: The Southborough Library has joined up with other local libraries to offer a special virtual event hosted by Ashland Public Library. It’s a zoom talk with Q&A featuring children’s book illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser (best known for the Fancy Nancy books.) For details, see dedicated post.
  • Tuesday Tech Time (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Need help with technology? Library staff and teen volunteers will make every effort to assist you. Bring questions about ebooks and electronic resources. This is a drop in event; no registrations necessary. Sessions are limited to no more than 1 hour.

  • ARHS Fall Chorus flyer coming-homeARHS Fall Chorus Concert (7:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, auditorium: A concert by the school’s choirs: Performances by Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Camerata Singers, Ladies First and Algoncappella. The theme is “Coming Home”. Guests are welcome for $5/adult, $3/student, or free to NSMA members. (To learn about NSMA and membership, click here.) Masks and COVID checklist compliance is required.   • PreK Costume Parade (10:00 am) @ Finn School: They encourage families and community members to watch the parades outdoors, along the parade route around the school. (In the case of inclement weather, our parade will be held indoors without visitors. However, they will record the parade and post it on thier website.)   • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453. 
  • Outdoor Baby/Toddler Story Time (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library’s back lawn: This story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.

  • Money Matters (5:00 – 5:45 pm) @ zoom: The Southborough Library is pleased to offer Money Matters to help build skills for kids & youth ages 8 to 18 that can contribute to future financial success. Get connected to helpful library resources as well as a place for an informative peer conversations about financial literacy so good money habits can start young!   • Sachem coffeehouse promoSachem Haunted Coffeehouse (7:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School’s Blackbox Theatre: Admission is $6 (or $5 if you wear a costume) Coffee & refreshments will be sold with all proceeds going towards the printing and publication of Sachem’s 2022 literary & art magazine.

  • Boo in the Barnyard (3:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Kids are invited to come in costume for Halloween activities such as ghost, pumpkin, and candy corn crafts, mask making, and the farm’s special take on trick-or-treating! Pumpkin bowling, themed scavenger hunts, and yard games will also be ready for you, and the Farm Store will be open with even more treats to take home. Pre-registration (and fee) required.   • Nocturnal Wild Walk: Bats (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Trustees of Reservations event – A special evening hike led by a Trustees ranger/naturalist. Learn about bats and how different types of plants and animals cope with the universal changes the land undergoes as the seasons evolve. Keep your eyes open for animal tracks and other signs of wildlife on the farm and in the woods! The hike will be about 30 minutes long followed by lemonade and s’mores around the campfire.   • Fall Fun on the Farm (12:00 – 4:30 pm in 90 minute windows) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Enjoy a classic New England fall day featuring apple cider, hayrides, a climbing haystack, live music, scenic walking trails, a Storywalk, and a visit to see the goats, chickens and sheep. Indulge in yummy food, apple cider, and other seasonal treats available for purchase. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Halloween – Trick or Treating (usually around 5:30 – 9:00 pm): Southborough doesn’t have official Trick or Treating hours. But, traditionally kids begin ringing bells here after dinner, around sunset on Halloween. The number of kids varies greatly by neighborhood.
