A Southborough couple picked up a big check from Mass Lottery last week – just not as big as the Lottery’s promo photo makes it seem.
Carla Baptiste Ojha won a $1M prize from a “Double Your Money” scratch ticket.
While I’m sure the payment was far more than double the money she paid for tickets, it was reduced by her choice to get it in a lump sum. The Lottery announcement clarifies she received $650K before taxes.
According to the announcement, Turnpike Wine & Liquor at 65 Turnpike Road will receive a $10K bonus for selling the ticket.
