Southborough Cultural Arts Council announced that their new grant window is open. They are also continuing to seek new members.
SCAC funds organizations, schools, and individuals that support cultural activities in the community. This year, their promoted priority is simply “to increase the presence of the arts in Southborough”. To that end:
We are interested in funding a diverse slate of projects and performances in or around the town.
The annual grant cycle opened today. They hope to grant approx. $6,300 for this year’s round. The deadline to apply is October 17th.
In the past, SCAC has funded Southborough Library projects, Art on the Trails, and the Open Door Connections Program at the Discovery Museum. Last year, 9 grants were awarded by SCAC, totaling over $4,300. (Click here for more details.)
As member of the Mass Cultural Council*, our Town’s application process is handled through the state’s online system:
The Southborough Cultural Arts Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
