Algonquin’s varsity sports had a fairly strong opening week.
Since I last posted, the Titans scored six wins and a tie, with only three losses.
Unfortunately for Boys Soccer, two of the losses belonged to them. The Boys lost to Leominster 2-0 and St. John’s 0-4.
The Girls team fared better with an opening win over Nashoba (1-0) followed by a 0-0 draw with Acton-Boxborough Regional. (The Sentinal shared a couple of highlights from the season opener here.)
Girls Volleyball has already notched two wins: 3-1 over Groton-Dunstable Regional and 3-2 over Natick.
Boys Golf, which was already two wins into the season, added a third on Thursday over Groton-Dunstable Regional 190-221. St. John’s broke that streak on Friday (183-201).
On Friday night, ARHS Football decimated Doherty Memorial with a 20-0 win. (The Telegram covered the action here and posted photo highlights here.)
