Flu Clinic tomorrow

If you didn’t sign up for this Wednesday’s flu clinic at the Senior Center, extra doses are available.

The Southborough Health Department is holding its annual flu clinic tomorrow at the Southborough Senior Center. Today, the Dept shared that walk-in appointments will be available in the afternoon — on a first come, first served basis.

Reminder, if tomorrow doesn’t work for you, Southborough residents are also eligible for a clinic in Northborough later this month.

If you are over the age of 65, you may want to take advantage of the Senior Center Clinic, which offers the high-dose vaccine as an option.* (If you can’t make that time work, you should be able to get high-dose vaccines from a local pharmacy.)

Here are the currently available dates, times, and locations pre-registration:

• Wednesday October 19, at the Southborough Senior Center, 9 Cordaville Hall (high dose shots are available for seniors)*
  • By pre-registration — 10am-12:30pm (as of writing this post, only slots from 11:25 am – 12:20 pm were still available to pre-book)
  • Walk-in, on first come, first served basis — 1:30 – 4:00 pm
• Saturday October 29, 9am-12pm – Algonquin “Drive Thru” Clinic, 79 Bartlett St., Northborough (no high-dose shots available for seniors)*
  • For this pre-registration-only event, the public is encouraged (but not required) to bring a Toys for Tots donation to drop off.

*The Town’s vaccine info includes: High-dose flu vaccines are only licensed for people 65 years and older and it is not recommended for people with a history of severe allergic reaction to the vaccine or to ingredients other than eggs. Speak to your doctor about what vaccine is right for you.
