On Saturday, three Titans teams cinched the Championship titles in the Central Mass tournaments. A fourth team, won the right to face off for the title in the Finals this week.
Girls Volleyball was pitted against Wachusetts for the CMADA Finals on Saturday. The Titans won 3-0. The Telegram recapped:
Mia Dobosh (16 kills, 13 digs, 3 aces), Caroline Macaulay (16 digs, 11 kills) and Ava Arcona (13 assists, 4 aces) helped the host second-seeded Titans (15-6) sweep the No. 4 Mountaineers (12-9) in the CMADA Class A championship at Algonquin Regional. Set scores were 25-23, 25-20 and 25-18.
The team has been seeded 14 in the MIAA state tournaments which kickoff this week. They’ll play 19th seed Wellesley in the Round of 32. (Game details are still TBD.)
Cross Country headed to its CMADA meet on Saturday. The Athletics Department announced both teams’ success:

Girls XC Highlights: Brigid Purcell finished in 2nd place, and Olivia Guckian in 4th place!
Boys XC Highlights: Joe Lamburn was 2nd overall, Steve White was 4th, and Matt Zhang was 6th!
You can read more details about the Central Mass meets in the Telegram (Girls and Boys). They’ll get some time to rest up this week, since the state tournament isn’t until November 12th.
Girls Soccer’s also competed in CMADA tourneys on Saturday. In the Semi-Finals, the top-seed Titans shut out 5th seed Tantasqua, 4-0. The Telegram recapped:
Gabby Miranda tallied twice, while Ava Wilde and Mary Cate Megan added goals
For the Finals, they’ll face Grafton on Tuesday (at 4:00 pm at Whitcomb Middle School in Marlborough). The undefeated teams tied 0-0 when they faced off earlier this season.
This Sunday, Cheer will compete in the Midwach League Tournament (11:00 am in Leominster).
The regular season is done for other Titan varsity teams. MIAA state championship brackets for Soccer and Field Hockey will be posted in the next couple of days. So stay tuned for that news.
Football failed to make playoffs, but will still be hitting the field this fall. The good news is that since they are now only matched against other non-playoff teams, they may have a shot at winning — or at least fewer shutouts.
As I posted early into the season, the team had chosen a strategy of pursuing tougher opponents this year in an effort to make the playoffs. Unfortunately, the team suffered player injuries in their second game that derailed those dreams. This Friday, they’ll host Fitchburg at 7:00 pm.
On a side note, it’s worth sharing an ARHS Harbinger story on an issue that may impact the upcoming schedule. The school paper reported earlier this month that a bus driver shortage has been causing schedule disruptions.
