  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.

  • Kid’s Church Garden Planning (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Pilgrim Church: Pilgrim Church’s Sunday School, “Kid’s Church” is celebrating Earth Day with special edcuational events this April to educate PreK-8th grade students about “God’s creation and our role in caring for it”. This session is Garden Planning. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Chestnut Hill Farm CSA Open House (1:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Learn about Chestnut Hill Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture program. Event includes light refreshments, a chat with the farm manager, and a tour. For details, see related post.
  • Messy Church (4:00 – 6:00 pm) @ St Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 27 Main St: A worship experience for busy families of younger kids. Includes a Bible story theme with activities, games, and crafts; a communion service geared toward kids; and a shared meal. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Youth Writing Club (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Weekly Library program for youth ages 11-18. Participants are invited to come share ideas and practice writing skills in a supportive environment. No sign up necessary.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and craft based on a weekly theme. Ages 2-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. No registration required. (Mondays & Tuesdays through most of the school year.)
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Cook Book Club (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Each month, participants are encouraged to pick a recipe to make from a selected cookbook. Bring the dish to share at a gathering at the Library. For details, see related post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Southborough Senior Center program registration opens (10:00 am): Most programs offered by the Southborough Senior Center require pre-registration and fill up in advance (which is why I don’t generally list them here.) Sign up for the May-June session opens this morning in person, or over the phone. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Teen Library Team (5:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: The library is looking for teen ideas for programs and services! Teens committed to making their voices heard are invited to a monthly library leadership meeting. Attending these meetings can count toward volunteering. This is for youth ages 13 -19.   • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Preschool Farm Explorers (10:00 – 11:00 am) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: For ages 2 years 9 months to 5 years old, Adult supervision required (discount for younger siblings and siblings under 1 yr old can attend for free) Your little farm explorers will become fully immersed in what life is like here at Chestnut Hill. Each session will have a different theme. (Offered weekly.) Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This weekly story time is for children age 0-2 years and their parents or caregivers. Each session will include puppets, stories, and music. No registration required.
  • Summer Food Safety flyerSummer Food Safety (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Join our Southborough Food Inspector and Health Director for a short presentation with Q&A. Participants will receive a small food safety themed gift bag. Ages 12 & Up. Registration is required, here.
  • Learn to Play Chess (5:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor stacks: Learn to play chess with high school expert Luca! (Meet ups will occur biweekly.)
  • Candidates’ Night (6:30 pm) @ Cordaville Hall, 9 Cordaville Road: Library Trustees will host a moderated panel with candidates in contested races for the Southborough Town Election. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Southborough Goes Green: The community is encouraged to wear green in support of Mental Health Awareness Month. Look for green ribbons across Southborough.
  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Kids are invited to dance and sing along to a variety of traditional and popular children’s songs Best for newborns through preschool age. No registration necessary. This event will be held on the library lawn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Leave the Light on (dusk): Beginning this evening, the community is encouraged to display a lit luminary bag outside each evening. Pick up bags at the Town House, Southborough Library, or SYFS’ office at 21 Highland Street. (2 free bags available per household while supplies last.)

  • Free Comic Book Day (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: The library will be celebrating Free Comic Book Day with comic books for patrons provided free-of-charge by Diamond Comic Distributors. Come to the library dressed as your favorite comic book character. Amy, Carol, and Ryan will pick their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.   • NACC Concert (3:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: The Northborough Area Community Chorus presents it’s 51st Annual Spring Concert with 70s music. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Dinner Church (6:00 pm) @ St Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 27 Main St: The community is invited to “a sacred meal”. Participants will make the meal together, light candles, sing simple songs, receive Holy Communion, and reflect and pray together. For details, see dedicated post.
