The Southborough Police posted a statement yesterday morning about a Marlborough resident charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon for allegedly pointing an air pistol at another driver.
The charges stem from their investigation of an alleged road rage incident in Southborough:
Southborough Police were called to investigate a report of a road rage incident involving a handgun on Friday, May 5th around 8pm on Turnpike Road (Rt 9) in Southborough. During the incident, it was alleged that one of the drivers displayed a handgun and pointed it as the victim (the other involved driver). The victim immediately notified the Southborough Police Department and an investigation in the the incident was conducted by Det. Keith Nichols. The suspect was later identified as [a Marlborough resident], and the handgun (later determined to to be a Sig Sauer .177 caliber Air Pistol) was located. [The accused] is being charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon as a result of the investigation.
