The Trustees asked me to share big news about their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program at Chestnut Hill Farm. For a limited number of applicants with SNAP benefits, $20 will buy 15 weeks of fresh veggies and herbs.
The program will run July 20th through the end of October (either weekly on Thursdays or Saturdays). Participants will be entitled to a share of the “certified organic vegetables”, fruit, and flowers are grown on the Southborough farm.
[Note: For regular memberships, the season is already underway allowing 20 weekly shares or 10 bi-weekly.]

We are excited to offer a new, fully sponsored CSA share for people who enrolled in SNAP! Distribution is at Chestnut Hill Farm in Southborough, Massachusetts. When you first pick-up, you will be required to pay a one-time fee of $20 via your SNAP benefits, and then all following pick-ups are fully paid for by The Trustees. Please note: in order to qualify for this CSA, you must be enrolled in SNAP. If you have questions about this new opportunity, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at farmers@thetrustees.org.

We connect people to their local food systems through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs, providing a way to eat locally and have a farm experience. Vegetable CSA members receive a share of the produce grown each season and share in the risks and rewards of farming, taking home a rich bounty of fresh vegetables, flowers and field fruit throughout the New England growing season.
As I explained in my previous post about the CSA, shares are picked up “‘market style’ enabling you to select the produce you will most enjoy leave those you won’t.”
Each visit, CSA members fill up a basket/container described as sized appropriately for a family of four or a “2-person household who enjoy a lot of vegetables in their diet”.
