Saturday, July 15, 2023

  • Hike with Goats (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Your reservation gets you and your group of family or friends an hour-long experience with a friendly goat on its own harness and leash. You will first learn how to walk with the goat, and then you’ll be accompanied by a farm staff member as you and your new goat friend make your way around the farm and its trails.   • Finding Fungi Guided Mushroom Hike (5:00 – 6:30 pm) @ Chestnut Hill Farm: Learn several methods for beginners to identify fungi and locate mushrooms. Pre-registration (and fee) required. For details, see related post.

Monday, July 17, 2023

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Drop-in Chess (12:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Bring a friend, or make a new one, as attendees play the competitive classic game: Chess. Weekly program over the summer (except for July 24th.)

  • $10 Rounds of Golf (6:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Golf Club: The club is offering the discounted Greens Fees on Tuesdays in July as part of National Parks & Recreation month. (Carts and any additional services are extra.) Book tee times up to one week in advance online (here) or by calling 508-460-0946
  • Senior Technology Help @ Senior Center: If room is available, seniors can sign up for a time slot to get questions answered about their tech devices. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Outdoor Story Time (11:00 – 11:45 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: Join Miss Kim for stories and fun! Please bring a blanket or chair. This event is for all ages and no registration is required. (In case of inclement weather, story time will be held in the Children’s Room.)
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Teen Design Lab (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Weekly drop-in for teens to explore the Idea Lab equipment. No Registration required. (Made possible by support from The Friends of the Southborough Library.) For details, see related post.
  • Sumptous Southborough Bake Off! (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: The Southborough Library is hosting a “Bake Off” for ages 12+. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Eco-Friends (4:00 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Weekly discussion group for kids ages 12+ who care about our environment and are looking for ways to make a difference! For details, see related post.
  • Southborough Summer Concert Series (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Neary’s Outdoor Stage, 53 Parkerville Road: Southborough Recreation’s free weekly family friendly outdoor concert series. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Bring your dinner or buy one there from a food truck. This week’s featured act is South Street Band. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Sunset Playdates (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Fay School’s Primary School Playground: The series is designed for young children 8 years old and under. Enjoy live music by Evan Haller. Registration is required For details, see dedicated post.
  • Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Rainforest Reptiles (time) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Best for ages 4+. Kids will get to see and learn about a variety of visiting reptiles. For details, see related post.
  • Science Adventure Book Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Registration is required to join the Southborough Library’s chapter of the Museum of Science weekly summer book club for 4th – 8th graders. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Lawn: Kids are invited to dance and sing along to a variety of traditional and popular children’s songs Best for newborns through preschool age. No registration necessary. This event will be held on the library lawn. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Summer Craft Club (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Weekly drop-in craft session for kids ages 12+. Make craft projects using the Library’s materials, tools, and resources. (Made possible by support from The Friends of the Southborough Library.) For details, see related post.
