Next Wednesday, enjoy the last concert in this year’s Southborough Summer Concert Series. Jumpin’ Juba will perform their blues-based roots-rock for the community.
Some residents may remember Jumpin’ Juba from their 2016 concert on Neary’s stage.
According to singer/guitarist Steve Hurl’s website, the other trio members have changed since then. He’s joined by a different drummer (Dylan Dichiara) and a bassist (Dylan David Lockeretz) instead of piano player. But the band still performs the same mix of blues and rock.
You can get a sense of their musical style from a past outdoor concert in Lexington below.*
The Southborough concert is scheduled for 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9th. Join them on the Neary field at 53 Parkerville Road. Don’t forget to bring your picnic blankets or chairs. (And maybe your dancing shoes.)
I still don’t know which dinner food truck is scheduled for the night, but you can count on Uhlmans Ice Cream truck to be there.
While this is the final Wednesday concert, it’s not the final performance on Neary’s stage this summer. On Saturday, August 26th, Hit the Bus will play at the big, end-of-summer festival, Summer Nights.
*The video includes Dichiara on drums, but Bruce Ward is on piano. I couldn’t find any videos from this year, when Lockeretz joined the band with his upright bass.
