Make sure to bring some cash with you to Heritage Day on Monday. One of the attractions that doesn’t take credit cards is The Friends of the Southborough Library’s biggest annual fundraiser – our* Heritage Day Book and Bake Sale.
As usual, the Friends will offer one free book per child.
As always, there will be a large selection of fiction and non-fiction hardcover and paperback books for adults, children, and young adults. Plus, you can find gently used CDs and DVDs.
The Friends will also offer its stuff a bag sale deal. So, if you purchased a Friends’ tote in the past, be sure to bring it with you.
Goodies for sale will include cookies, pumpkin bread, and more.
The event will be held in the Library parking lot, right across from the main field. Books and goodies will be for sale from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Anyone who wants to volunteer to help us out for a shift sometime that day, please email djmtremblay@verizon.net. (Setup begins at 9:00 am, which is also when anyone who would like to contribute goodies can start dropping them off.)
Proceeds from the Friends’ fundraisers are used to support Library resources and programs not covered by the regular budget. That includes most of the Library’s discount passes to museums and venues, many children’s programs throughout the year, and programs for adults and young adults.
*Full disclosure: I’m the President of The Friends of the Southborough Library. (Hope to see you at our sale!)
