Vaccine Clinics Update

Yesterday, I posted about the Flu Clinic for Seniors. Today, I received the details on two other flu clinics being offered that cover younger Southborough residents.

I also learned that the Town won’t be holding clinics for this season’s Covid shots (which are now available to most adults). But I have information on how you can sign up to get a shot.

For all of the vaccine clinics:

  • Pre-registration is required.
  • No Copays. Please enter insurance information when registering to expedite the check-in process.
  • Please wear short sleeves

Flu Vaccine:  Most local pharmacies & doctor’s offices are offering flu vaccines.  Call ahead to confirm availability especially for high-dose vaccine.

Where can I get the high-dose flu vaccine?  Most local pharmacies and doctor’s offices are offering flu vaccines.  Call ahead to confirm availability especially for high-dose vaccine.

Should I get the high-dose flu vaccine?  High-dose flu vaccines are only licensed for people 65 years and older.  Speak to your doctor about what vaccine is right for you.  Click here for to CDC’s Different Types of Flu Vaccines webpage.

Covid Vaccines

I asked Southborough’s Public Health Nurse about whether the Town would be holding Covid Vaccine Clinics. She responded:

The health department & Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health are not planning any COVID-19 vaccine clinics for this season. However, doctor’s office and pharmacies will be offering COVID-19 vaccines. Updated COVID-19 vaccines are available to most adults living in the U.S. at no cost through their private health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. You can find a COVID vaccination site near you at Vaccines.gov or by contacting your health care provider. You should be able to dual schedule both vaccines if they are available through any pharmacy or doctor’s office (as long as they are available).

I have seen ads promoting getting this season’s Covid shots at the same time as Flu Shots. So if you aren’t taking advantage of one of the Flu Clinics, you can ask you doctor about getting both or try to sign up for both at the same time.
