A “Native Plants Gardens of Southborough” group is inviting the public to join them on Heritage Day. Their invite includes attending a special story time for kids, picking up free seeds, and/or marching with them in the parade.
Volunteers from the Facebook Group are again partnering with the Open Space Preservation Commission to run a booth on the Heritage Day field.
At the booth, they’ll be educating the public about the importance of using native plants to help support native pollinators. And they’ll be giving away appropriate seeds to plant in your own yard.

To help pull in visitors, volunteer Jenny Peet will hold a garden and nature-themed story time at 10:30 and 11:30 am.
The group will also be raising awareness by marching in the parade with children dressed as butterflies and bees.
They invite others to join them, “all are welcome, costumes are optional.” To march with the group, meet them in the parking lot of St. Anne’s Church (20 Boston Road) at 9:00 am where parade participants will be organizing.
