Sachem’s annual “Haunted Coffeehouse” is this Thursday.
Teens not familiar with a “coffeehouse” concept may be confused by the title and expect some frights. It’s not a haunted house. Instead, the seasonal “coffeehouse” allows the audience to eat and drink while enjoying open-mic style performances by Algonquin students on the small stage.
The students mostly singing and/or play instruments. But past years have also included poetry, improv, or monologues. (An instagram post by Sachem last week encouraged anyone interested in performing to email Mr. Querino @mquerino@nsboro.k12.ma.us.)
The event takes place in the school’s Black Box Theater on October 26 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Admission is $6 (or $5 if you come in costume). Refreshments are extra. Proceeds support Sachem, Algonquin Regional’s “Literary Magazine”. (The magazine also showcases photography and artwork).
