On Wednesday, they’ll head to neutral ground (Framingham High) to face 3rd seed Canton in the MIAA Division 2 Final Four. Head Coach Janice Henningson told the Community Advocate:

We have to be prepared. We have to be on our A-game – that’s our motto. … Play Algonquin volleyball.

Cross Country MIAA Division Championships were on Saturday. The Algonquin Boys won the Division 1C Championship. According to the Telegram, they were “led by senior Steve White’s gritty runner-up performance” and aided by “a speedy and dedicated group of seniors: Chris Kardos finishing fourth, Aiden Ruiz seventh and Joseph Lamburn, 11th.”

The Girls team came in 7th place for Division 1B “led by Olivia Guckian in the 17th spot, freshman Tanvi Mehta, 25th and senior Brigid Purcell 26th”.

On Saturday, both teams will compete in the All State Championships at Fort Devens.

Friday night marked the end of Titans Field Hockey’s journey this fall. The team went up against 2nd seed Andover in the MIAA Division 1 Quarter Finals. From the Boston Globe’s coverage, it sounds like the Gonk girls made a valiant (but unsuccessful) effort to hold off the champs of the past two seasons. They lost 0-3.

The night prior was a better one for Algonquin Football. Though they weren’t in the running for a title, the team was happy to score a in their final MIAA game. They beat Nashoba 17-0 in their non-playoff game, improving their record to 2-8.

The team will play one more time before they hang up their cleats this season — the annual Thanksgiving Day game against Westborough (10:00 am at Westborough).
