For some Southborough residents, Easter dinner preparations were disrupted by power outages. Several of you wrote in to say you lost power at least once on Sunday.
According to National Grid, the main blackout was caused by an underground cable fault in Westborough that tripped the breakers in the Southborough substation shortly before 1:00 pm on Sunday. The average outage lasted about 90 minutes. There were also two brief outages — 5 to 7 minutes each — at 5:07 pm and 11:12 pm (at the height of the Red Sox game – gasp!) that were required to get everything fixed.
No word on how many customers — or Easter hams — were impacted.
We were out for about 3 hours in the afternoon, then about 30 min with the 5:00 outage, then about 15 min with the 11:00 outage. Luckily we did Easter the week before so it was a quiet day.
Initially went off for about 2 mins, not long enough for the clocks to be reset. But then about 5 mins later, it went off for ~15-20 mins. But then it came back for good, thankfully.
We had all three.
