I got the early morning text from the schools. There will be a 2 hour delay for Southborough public schools and Algonquin Regional High School today.
We aren’t inundated with snow, but the weather is messy.
Of course, this means that morning preschool is cancelled and the Senior Center will be closed.
For those of you keeping track – this is the third delay this school year (and we only had one cancellation.)
As I’ve previously shared, earlier in the school year, Superintendent Gregory Martineau’s posted information about the school’s process for determining when to delay or cancel school. His message noted:
While our goal is to remain in session, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. . . Like weather forecasting, the school-closing decision process is not a perfect science.
You can read the FAQs on how and when the decision is made here.
I haven’t received the phone call yet, which doesn’t bode well for the system having operated correctly this morning. Hopefully that’s just a little behind and not being missed like it was earlier this year.
