Town Election is Tomorrow: Here’s what you should know

The May 14th ballot includes the race for the Select Board and Northborough seats on the Regional School Committee, plus there is a write-in campaign for the Planning Board

Southborough’s annual election is in less than a day. I’m updating readers on the details for the races (and non-races).

As I’ve previously covered, there are two official races on the ballot and one new write-in campaign. 

Note: This close to the election, I don’t allow negative comments about candidates’ because I don’t feel that it gives enough fair notice for them to respond (and readers to see those responses). But you can still post endorsement comments for who you will be voting for and why (within reason).

Voting takes place tomorrow (Tuesday, May 14th) between 6:30 am – 8:00 pm at Trottier Middle School, 49 Parkerville Road.

Southborough Ballot Drop in BoxIf you applied to vote by mail and haven’t yet return your ballot, make sure to get it in by the end of voting. (There is an official election drop box at the Town House, 17 Common Street. DO NOT use the Town’s other drop-box for other documents and DO NOT bring your mail-in ballot to Trottier. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to the Town Clerk’s office at 508-485-0710, ext. 3005.)

Here are the names that will be on the ballot for uncontested seats in the election:

  • Assabet Valley Regional Vocational District School Committee – 4 year term – Mark Pietrewicz (incumbent)
  • Board of Assessors – 3 year term – Heath Widdis (incumbent)
  • Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds – 3 year term – Susan Delarda-Wood (incumbent)
  • Board of Health – 3 year term – Chelsea Malinowsk (incumbent)
  • Board of Trustees Southborough Library – vote for two – 3 year term:
    • David Ekberg (incumbent)
    • Mary Tinti
  • Moderator – 1 year term – Paul Cimino (incumbent)
  • Housing Authority – 3 year term – Bertha (Bea) Ginga
  • Southborough School Committeevote for two – 3 year term:
    • Laura M. Kaufman
    • Alan Michael Zulick
  • Southborough candidates for Regional School Committee – vote for two – 3 year term:
    • Kathleen Harragan Polutchko (incumbent)
    • Jennifer Primack
