Outdoor “Back to School Movie Night”

A week from Saturday, Algonquin Student Council is hosting an outdoor movie night for the community. The event is a StuCo fundraiser (so not free).

Organizers note that this is not a drop-off event — parents should plan to stay with children.

Fortunately, the PG rated movie is one that many parents will also enjoy — Disney’s Moana. (And with the sequel set to hit theaters in November, families who haven’t seen it yet, or in recent years, may be especially interested.)

Outdoor movie at ARHSThe event will take place at Algonquin’s stadium field (79 Bartlett Street, Northborough). Families should bring blankets. (No chairs will be allowed on the turf.)

The fee to attend is $3 per child and $5 per adult. They will accept cash and credit cards.

Snacks and drinks will be for sale. So you may want to get there when the event opens at 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 14th. The movie will be screened starting at 8:00 pm. (If it starts on time, that means ending at 9:43 pm.)

The threat for EEE and West Nile virus is still low in Northborough (and Southborough), but moderate in some neighboring towns. So, I’d recommend dressing appropriately and/or applying bug spray before you head out.

No rain date is posted, but the event is obviously dependent on the weather. If it looks iffy close to the event, you can check ARHS StuCo’s Facebook and Instagram for updates. That’s also where you can DM them if you have any questions.
