SYFS offers mental health learning your schedule

Book an info session on supporting people with Depression, Anxiety, or ADHD, Listening/Speaking with LOVE, Navigating the Mental Health System, Preventing Suicides, or just learning about the department's services.

In the past, I’ve shared news about Southborough Youth & Family Services’ scheduled workshops on important mental health topics.

Now, the agency is announcing a more flexible way for people to learn about the topics that can help them, their loved ones, or even groups of colleagues.

The public is invited to schedule a session with an SYFS member, choosing from “a menu of topics” and for a range of private or public conversations.

Appointments can be one-on-one. Or you can choose to include one or more others (like family members or close friends), a larger gathering (such as a friend group, club, or workplace Professional Development), or even an open-to-the-public workshop.

The topics are geared to adults. However, Director Sarah Cassell tells me that if a teen is interested in one of the topics, they could adapt content. (They are also working on developing sessions for youth to announce in the future.)

For community members interested in supporting SYFS’ Suicide Prevention month initiative, it’s worth noting that one of the topics is the QPR Suicide Prevention course.

The full slate of choices is:
