The 18th annual Gobble Wobble walk and run will take place on Thanksgiving morning. Registration is already open.
For those not familiar, the Gobble Wobble combines a 5K timed race with a 2 mile family-friendly walk.
The annual event is offered to support “community health, togetherness, and spirit”. But is also the Friends of Rec’s big annual fundraiser. Proceeds help support community recreation (facilities, programs, etc.)
Again, this year, No dogs will be allowed on the course.
The Friends asked me to share a thanks to the sponsors that make this annual event possible. (See flyer right.)
The walk and run start at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving (November 28th). Check in at registration begins at 7:00 am, with an early check in also available the day prior — 12:30 – 5:30 pm on Wednesday, November 27th.
Early Bird registration costs are $35 per adult and $25 per child (ages 1-18). (Day of, in person registration is more.) A discount is available for households registering 5+ participants.
As always, medals will be awarded for overall Male and Female runners, plus by age group.
The event begins and ends outside of Trottier Middle School at 49 Parkerville Road. For more details or to register, click here.
Updated (10/8/24 10:23 am): I had included info on a used sneaker collection that Friends of Rec accidentally included in the Gobble Wobble registration page info from last year. It turns out, they aren’t repeating the event this year.
I made a similar error of my own, accidentally including last year’s old link to the Shannon’s Path walk. (This year, that took place this past weekend.) And I listed registration as about to open, when it already did.
