On September 25th, 2024 Leona Straube Foote, 84, of Marshfield, formerly of Southborough, passed away surrounded by her family. Lee was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who glowed with pride for her family. Like the first rays of sun in the morning, Lee brought warmth and light into each day. Her family and friends will remember Lee for her kindness, love of a good laugh, and her compassionate, giving nature.
The daughter of Leonard and Helen Straube of Cambridge, MA, Lee primarily grew up in Southborough MA, where she met her husband, Cameron Foote. Lee and Cam married in 1960 and started a family a few years later, eventually settling in Marshfield.
Lee found joy every day in the simple pleasures of life, such as watching the sunrise from her Marshfield home where she lived for almost 50 years. Holiday gatherings with her family and hosting her grandchildren for summer vacations brought her exceptional happiness. In recent years, Lee enjoyed spending time with her friends in the prayer shawl knitting group and participating in many programs at the local Council of Aging.
Lee is survived by her husband, Cameron Foote, her daughters Kimberly (Colin) Rees of Auckland, New Zealand and Christann (Matthew) Russell of Sandown, New Hampshire, and her grandchildren Chelsea Rees, Cameron Russell and Ava Russell.
A memorial service to celebrate Lee will be held at the United Church of Christ in Norwell, MA on October 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A family-only burial will take place immediately following in Southborough.
