Algonquin Boys Hockey Team’s annual fundraiser is a November highlight for many kids in Southborough and Northborough. It’s time to start organizing teams and planning costumes and themes.

Each year, 1st-8th graders are invited to register teams to play in the tournament. The competition doesn’t involve pucks. Instead, kids are challenged to chuck, catch, and dodge balls.

The 14th annual Dodgeball Tournament will take place on Saturday, November 23rd. Registration is due by Friday, November 15th.

Players register as a team of 8-10 players at $120 per team.* (Teams can be boys, girls, or co-ed.) Teams are divided by age groups with playoffs.*

Every year, teams are encouraged to get creative with their team shirts. Prizes are awarded for the best t-shirt designs.

Other fun includes raffles and concessions. All proceeds benefit the team.

  • Grades 5 & 6 – 1:00 – 3:00 pm
  • Grades 7 & 8 – 3:00 – 5:00 pm

*Only 8 team members are allowed to play in each game, but additional players can be substituted in when an “out” player qualifies to return to the game (when a member of their team catches a “LIVE” ball).

In past years, organizers promoted that each team would play at least three games, which meant that each team member was guaranteed a chance to play. This year, that isn’t specified. Instead, the rules explain that specifics of division playoffs “will be explained on the day of the tournament, as set up may change based on the number of teams in the age group.”
