Candidates for selectmen collect endorsements

Town elections are on Monday, and in addition to touting their qualifications, the two candidates for selectmen — incumbent Sal Giorlandino and challenger John Rooney — are touting their endorsements. Here’s what supporters have to say about the candidates.

Endorsements for Sal Giorlandino

“I am supporting Sal because I feel Sal is the best candidate for the job. He is committed and has served the town well — doing things that are right, regardless of whether they are popular.” —Barbara Murphy, former member of the Council on Aging, Southborough Housing Authority, and Police Chief Search Committee.

Endorsements for John Rooney

Rooney’s other endorsements include former Southborough Town Administrator Janice Conlin, chair of the Southborough Open Space Committee Maryellen Luttrell, president of Breakneck Hill Farm Laurie Bourdon, and K-8 School Committee member Jack Kessler, among others.
