While I more frequently cover Algonquin, it isn’t the only public high school that for the Town of Southborough.
Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School is encouraging prospective students and parents to explore what they have to offer in two weeks. While I’m sharing that news, I’m also sharing a last minute chance to order goodies from them for Thanksgiving.
Online Pre-Thanksgiving Bake Sale
It’s been years since I’ve seen Assabet promote this opportunity. Students in the school’s Culinary Arts program will be whipping up pies, cookies, a gluten free pumpkin roll, and Thanksgiving appropriate side dishes.
The orders are due tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20th, by noon. Click here to open the order form.
The dishes will be available for pickup between 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26th.
Showcase
Southborough is one of the seven towns that make up the district for AVRTHS. (Although students who want to attend need to apply for acceptance.)
A week from Thanksgiving, the school is holding its annual “Showcase”. The event helps show off the school’s college and career pathways.
The evening will showcase the high school’s technical and academic programs. It will feature interactive demos, performances, and admissions info sessions. It’s also a chance to question faculty.
Students and parents are invited to:
Learn more about how Assabet prepares students for both career and college. Come to meet instructors, staff, and administrators. Explore interactive demonstrations.
If you like what you see, you can submit an application that night. (but don’t worry, you can also take your time to decide. Applications aren’t due until January 15th.)
The Showcase runs from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. (This year’s invite didn’t specify, but usually there is an admissions info session in the auditorium at 6:15 pm.)
