The annual Street Listing form was recently mailed to Southborough residents. (It’s also known as the Town Census.) Completed forms are requested back within 10 days and officially due back by January 31st.
Under Mass state law, each town is required to update its street listing of residents each year. All that’s required by you is to review the information, make any necessary corrections, sign, and return it to the Southborough Town Clerk’s office. (Sign and return the form even if no corrections are required.)
For residents who don’t respond, the Town will have to spend on follow up mailings. Failure to respond can also eventually lead to inactive voter registration status (requiring more work by residents to verify their status before elections). (Plus, the more residents that are listed in the census, the better for the Town when it seeks state grants.)
To make it easy to respond, the Town Clerk invites residents to “scan” the form and email it. That doesn’t require a scanner. Snapping a pic using your phone is just fine.
Of course, snail mail is still also allowed, as is dropping it off:
You can return it by any of these options:
- Scan it and email the scan to census@southboroughma.com
- Place your signed street list in the grey mailbox at the Town House
- Mail the signed form to Town Clerk, 17 Common St. Southborough, MA 01772
If you need another copy of your census, or have questions, you can follow up with the Town Clerk’s Office at (508) 485-0710 x 3005.
