- Seed Pickup for Winter Sowing (12:00 – 1:00 pm) @ Cordaville Hall/Southborough Senior Center parking lot, 9 Cordaville Rd: Event requires pre-registration (and seed selection) by 5:30 pm on Friday, January 17th. Drive thru pickup of free seeds for native plants that are friendly to native pollinators. (Participants can also sign up for the Winter Sow Workshop that follows.) For details, see dedicated post.
- Winter Sow Workshop (1:30 – 2:30 pm) @ Cordaville Hall/Southborough Senior Center, 9 Cordaville Rd: The free event requires pre-registration by 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 18th. Participants will be led through sowing seeds in jugs to nurture seedlings to be planted in the spring. For details, see dedicated post.
Monday, January 20, 2025 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Town closures: Public schools, Town offices, the Southborough Library, and the Senior Center are all closed for the federal holiday
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration (4:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Westborough High School: This regional event encourages Southborough community participation. It includes adult programs themed “Purpose, Partnership, and Power: The Path to Civic Well-being” and children’s programs. For details, see dedicated post.
- Safe Spaces Community Gatherings (time) @ where: Southborough Safe Spaces is launching this “space for anyone who wants to support LGBTQ+ youth or simply be part of a community that champions the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people.” For details, see dedicated post.

- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Assabet early release: Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School has a half day to allow for parent-teacher conferences
- Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)
- Live Blues Jam n’ Open Mic (8:00 – 11:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Come play or sing with the house band.

- Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
- Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (1:15 – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: The first session in the six week free series for children, ages 3-6 to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. - Virtual Author Talk (2:00 – 3:00 pm) @ online: Registration is required to take part in the free live talk with Q&A, “Notes on Modern Irrationality with Bestselling Author Amanda Montell”.
