Jeanette Castelda, 85, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1939, in Utica, NY.
Jean was a devoted wife to her late husband, Richard Castelda, and a loving mother to her daughters, Kim and Tracy. She dedicated her career to serving the Utica Public Schools as a secretary, where her kindness and helpful nature touched the lives of many.
Jean was a woman of deep faith and a pillar of her community. She was known for her warm smile, her generous spirit, and her thoughtful gestures towards friends and neighbors. Jean loved to cook and found joy in feeding family and friends, always ensuring everyone felt welcomed and cared for around her table.
Jean leaves behind her daughters Kim Castelda and husband Mark Kelleher; Tracy and her late husband, Mahesh Sheth. Her grandchildren that knew her as Sito – Maryeliz and Zach Point, Devan Sheth, Julianne Kelleher, Alex Kelleher, and Derek Sheth – were the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. As well as her nieces and nephews Jacquline and John Collins, Kellie and John Dodge, John and Danyse Collins, and Christine LaBuzzetta.
Jean will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her gentle spirit, and her love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 25, 2025, at 11:30AM at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Post Road, Southborough, MA 01772. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd., Southborough, MA. There are no calling hours.
