Maureen A. (Rossi) Galvin Born August 23, 1947, Passed January 09, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
There is no easy way to describe all the traits and characteristics that made Maureen who she was. She was someone who was uniquely herself and let everyone know it. She would bring joy to her family and friends through cooking and conversation. Dinner was always delicious and served promptly at 6:00 p.m. Her favorite time of year was Christmas when she would go all out with decorating the house and baking her trademark treats and inviting friends and family over to enjoy the holiday. Nothing but the best was good enough for her and her family. She attended St Annes Academy in Marlboro and learned to speak French. Her first real job was running the Children’s department at Sears (Natick.) She later became the hostess for the Andrea Restaurant (Southboro) where she cared deeply about her regular customers and would even call to check in on them if she hadn’t seen them in a while. She later worked at Genzyme for over 15 years and was the administrative assistant that brought order and fun to all of her co-workers.
When Bob decided to go to a gathering of co-workers to celebrate Halloween in 1965, he did not know that he was going to meet the love of his life. From that day forward they were inseparable over their 56 years of marriage and 60 years together. Even Bob’s proposal to Maureen was unique in that he handed her a bag with a Burt Bacharach Album that also contained an engagement ring. There was no hesitation in her saying ‘YES.” They never ventured far from that day and lived originally in Marlboro but finally made a home in Southboro. That house gave them all they needed, and they were always there in case friends or family needed anything. There was one notable exception of them leaving Southboro to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in St Maarten. The family still hears stories from all the fun they had. Along the way they had 3 children (Jeffrey, Jennifer and Jeremy) and yes it was intentional that all kid’s names started with ‘J’ as all things needed to coordinate. Most summer days Bob would be out by the pool cleaning it so the kids and later on, grandchildren could swim and have fun. While Bob was outside Maureen was inside making food to feed the soon to be hungry children that would be starving from all the fun. Summers will always be remembered for family fun time and tasty food.
Maureen is survived by her husband Bob Galvin (Southboro), Jeffrey (Son) and Kerrie (Wife) and their 3 children Rebecca, Trevor and Olivia (Holden). Jennifer (Daughter) and Justin Pessini (Husband) and their son Ethan (Marlboro). Jeremy (Son) and Rebecca (Wife) and Jaiden (Willimantic). She is also survived by her cherished dogs Toby and Chloe. All the children and grandchildren and dogs will dearly miss their Mother, Mom, Ma and Grammie.
