Coffee for seniors to ask questions of the Select Board Chair — Tuesday

Tomorrow afternoon, senior residents are invited to have coffee and chat with Select Board Chair Kathy Cook. Since Cook also serves on the Neary Building Committee (and its Finance Subcommittee), seniors may also be interested in speaking to her about that.

The event does call for pre-registration.

I’m flagging this event, since (as a reader drew to my attention), I initially failed to include it in my Event highlights for this week.

But also, given the alarming letter to the editor I posted this morning, I believe it may now interest some senior readers who weren’t interested when they read about the event over a month ago. In the letter from Select Board member Al Hamilton, he forecasts a significant tax hike for residents, even without a school building project. (I don’t know yet whether or not officials are still hoping to further whittle down the figure he quoted. Stay tuned on that one.)

As I shared in early January, the Senior Center’s winter newsletter invites:

The current chair of the Select Board, Kathy Cook, will be at the Senior Center to discuss any issues that our resident seniors may have that relate to Town government. Ms. Cook is also on the Neary Building Committee and will discuss that project with anyone who is interested. She is hoping to see a lot of seniors.

The coffee is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 11th at 1:00 pm in the Southborough Senior Center. To register, call the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.

(As of my checking around 1:00 pm today, there was still room for more registrants.)
