For now, the Trustees are sticking with one educational/hiking program in Southborough per month. This month is the annual maple tapping event. In early spring, they’ll continue to teach about foraging for fungi.

All events require pre-registration and include a fee. Fees listed below are member/non-member rates. (You can find membership details here.)

Maple tapping at Chestnut Hill farm from 2023 Facebook postMaple Tap-A-Thon at Chestnut Hill Farm
Saturday, February 22nd, 10:00 – 11:30 am and 12:30 – 2:00 pm

Cost: $15/$25 per adult and $12/$20 per child

At the annual event, learn how to identify maple trees, the history of tapping, and how maple sap runs. Each family group will then set their own tap to get the farm’s maple flowing. You’ll go home with instructions on how to tap your own maple trees and make your own syrup. Note: The event may be postponed to later in the season “if tapping conditions aren’t ideal due to the unpredictable nature of weather.”
