From the Metrowest Daily News:
Judy Williams-Thornton was supposed to be there next Monday when the Southborough Library names its front room for her.
“She was scheduled to be the guest of honor,” former library trustee Fred Williams said.
Instead, Monday’s event will be a celebration of the life of Williams-Thornton, the former library director who died May 15.

Not surprisingly, Fred Williams didn’t also mention that, along with Judy, there are two others to be honored on Monday–including two long-time Trustees of the Library, Fred himself and Natalie Fantony. There was a wonderful “going-away” party for Judy’s retirement at the library. Sad to say, expectations were not high that she could be at next week’s event, given how long she had had been suffering with cancer. We will indeed honor her on Monday but we also know that Judy would want to make sure that we will fully appreciate the service of two of the many volunteers who are so vital to the library’s service to our town.
