The Massachusetts-filmed ‘Grown Ups’ is not getting particularly good reviews, but that may not matter to many Southborough fans. I mean, how often do you get to see our hometown on the big screen? The question is, will those opening clips of Pilgrim Church make up for 102 minutes of (reportedly) bad comedy? What do you think? Are you planning on seeing it?
Here are a couple of local theaters showing ‘Grown Ups’ tonight:
- Regal Westborough Stadium 12 (231 Turnpike Road, Westborough) — 4:30, 7:20, 7:50, 9:45, 10:15
- AMC Framingham 15 (22 Flutie Pass, Framingham) — 5:15, 5:45, 7:15, 7:45, 8:20, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00
- Regal Solomon Pond Mall Stadium 15 (591 Donald Lynch Blvd, Marlborough) — 4:50, 7:20, 8:00, 10:00, 10:30
More movie times here.
If you go, don’t bother sticking around for the closing credits. The Metrowest Daily News reported that despite the scenes filmed there, Southborough isn’t mentioned in the credits — only Essex is.
Sally Watters and Dick Dinjian were the secret “stars” in the church. The movie was okay, but not one of Adam Sandler’s better endeavours.
Wife & daughter saw it last night…they gave it the thumbs down…
I notice that the Mendon drive-in will be showing it after Toy Story 3 next week, which gives an excellent opportunity to watch the first few minutes and then leave… are we in any more than the first few minutes?
I went to see it the night it came out and Southborough is only featured about 10 minutes in for the about 15 minutes
