Representative Jim McGovern paid a visit to Algonquin on Monday as part of the Massachusetts Harvest for Students Week. The Metrowest Daily News reports McGovern talked to a group of students about healthy eating and how they can help battle hunger in the state.
“More and more schools need to come to the realization that we need good nutrition,” McGovern said. “Taking a stance and acting on it, rather than waiting for politics to take over, is a positive step and seems to be at work here.”
McGovern also talked about poverty and how students can make a difference. If all 450 high schools in Massachusetts helped a local food bank, “what a difference that would make,” he said.
