Southborough had another home break-in this week. The residents of a Bantry Road home went out for about 90 minutes on Monday evening and returned to find someone had broken into their home. The perpetrator had already left by the time the residents arrived home.
It’s the second time a Bantry Road house has been broken into in the past few weeks, and it continues an ongoing string of home burglaries in town. About ten homes have been broken into since September, with five of them taking place within the last 30 days.
Sergeant Sean James with the Southborough Police Department said the mode of entry was the same as in past break-ins, but declined to give any more detail so as not to jeopardize the investigation. James said nothing appeared to be taken from the home.
At this time the police have no suspects in the string of burglaries.
Southborough is not alone in its struggle with home burglaries. Framingham recently increased patrols in its neighborhoods. Westborough has seen a rash of burglaries this week alone, one that took place while the resident was home asleep.
James said Southborough Police are spending more time paroling neighborhoods in light of the burglaries. The police also issued a memo about things you can do to help keep your home safe.

Interesting thing happened for the 3rd time this week at my home, the doorbell rang and no one was there. But yesterday my husband was standing next to the screen that the cameras in our yard show and saw two younger people ring the doorbell and run and hid behind some of our Christmas items outside and then jump into a Scion type car and leave before he could get upstairs. Makes me wonder if they weren’t casing the house as I am usually home but had run out As good neighbors we need to look out for each other and notice odd behavior.
