By now you’ve no doubt already heard the forecasts. From all accounts were in for a good bit of snow tomorrow. Southborough Emergency Management Director Neal Aspesi said a “classic nor’easter” could dump 12 to 16 inches of snow across the area. As of this writing, the National Weather Service map has us on the high end of that range.
In an email to emergency personnel, Aspesi said the storm will be tricky because of the timing. “The biggest impact with this storm will be the heavy snow right at the Wednesday morning rush hour,” Aspesi wrote. “A few trees may be downed due to the strong winds and heavy snow, causing scattered power disruptions.”
Aspesi said he advises residents to develop alternate plans for communing and traveling on Wednesday. “Employers may want to pre-determine what employees can work from home as it would be safer than venturing out,” he said.
School in Southborough hasn’t been canceled yet, but if things progress as predicted, it seems likely it will be.
The DPW has sand available for residents who need it. A pile is located at the DPW building near the entrance to the Transfer Station. Bring your own shovel and container.

Update 6:15 pm – School has been canceled in Southborough tomorrow.
