Two Algonquin and two Assabet teams played postseason games last week. Three out of the four won their games and will continue their postseason run this week. Here’s a recap.
After a bye in the first round, the Algonquin girls basketball team beat Westborough in the quarter-finals by a score of 44-37. The third-seed T-hawks will take on seventh-seed Leominster in the semi-finals on Tuesday at 6:00 pm at Clark University. Leominster upset second-seed Wachusett to make it to the semi-finals.
On Friday the Algonquin-Hudson girls hockey team beat Billerica in overtime by a score of 4-3. They’ll take the ice against Acton-Boxboro on Wednesday at 7:30 pm in Watertown. Algonquin-Hudson is ranked sixth and Acton-Boxboro third.
The Assabet boys hockey team beat Oakmont in the Central Division 3A quarter-finals by a score of 4-1. They’ll face top-ranked Groton-Dunstable on Wednesday at 7:30 pm at Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg.
The fourth-seed Assabet girls basketball beat Douglas in the first round of the Central Division 3 finals. They moved on to face fifth-seed West Boylston in the quarter-finals on Saturday, but lost the game by a score of 38-31.
