Times may be tight, but a 25% increase in the cost of full-day kindergarten didn’t deter Southborough parents from choosing the full-day option. In fact, full-day kindergarten enrollment is going up next year.
For 2009-2010, the full-day kindergarten program at Finn will enroll 116 students, that’s five more than this year. Half-day kindergarten will have 27 kids, down from 32 this year. Total year-over-year enrollment will hold steady at 143 students.
To accommodate the kids, Finn will have six full-day class and two half-day sessions. That’s the same as this year.
The Boston Globe reported recently that three-fourths of all kindergarten students are in full-day classes. In Southborough that number will be 81% for the 2009-2010 school year.
