Saturday is the last day to take advantage of discounted registration for two popular summer programs offered by the Recreation Department.
Sessions of the Kid’s Kamp at Finn and the Kid’s Klub at Woodward run weekly from June 27 through August 19. Each weekly sessions costs $109, but if you sign up by April 30, you’ll get $10 off the normal rate. If, like me, you don’t know what your summer plans are yet, you can sign up now and then adjust your choice of weeks later.
Descriptions of the programs follow. Find more information — including how to sigh up — on the Recreation Department website.
Kids Kamp
Located at the Finn School playground, Kids Kamp offers a nurturing and fun environment for children aged 2.9 (must be potty trained) to entering first grade. Weekly sessions run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, with an optional one-hour lunch period for an additional fee. The camp fee is $109 per week plus $40 per week for the optional lunch hour.
Each session offers weekly themes of arts and crafts, sports, games, science and water play. Special events such as Truck Day, Bubble Day, visits by the DPW, Library, Police and Fire are also incorporated. Daniel Rudzinsky, a physical education teacher in the Marlborough Schools, joins as camp supervisor this year.
Kids Klub
This camp, located outdoors at the Woodward School, offers a variety of fun and active programs for kids entering grades two through four. Under the supervision of the ever-popular Tiffany Goode, Woodward PE teacher, each session offers a combination of outdoor games and sports, arts and crafts, playground play, and science and water activities.
New this year, each week will feature an attraction like a giant jumbo slide, slip n’ slide, and much more in a carnival-like atmosphere with games, cotton candy and snow cones.
Sessions run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, with an optional one hour lunch period for an additional fee. The camp fee is $109 per week plus $40 per week for the optional lunch hour.
