The Algonquin girls and boys tennis teams both won their quarterfinal matches yesterday to advance to their respective Central Division 1 semi-final rounds. Both play again on Wednesday.
The 2nd-seed girls topped 10th-seed Milford by a score of 3-2. The defending division champs will take on 3rd-seed St. Peter Marian on Wednesday at 3:15 pm at Algonquin.
Also yesterday the 6th-seed boys upset 3rd-seed Doherty by a score of 3-2. They’ll face 2nd-seed St. John’s in the semifinals on Wednesday at 3:00 pm. The location of the game has not yet been announced.
In other postseason action, the Algonquin girls lacrosse team will take on Groton-Dunstable in the division semifinals today at 5:00 pm at Foley Stadium in Worcester. The boys lacrosse team will play their semi-final match against Grafton on Wednesday at 7:00 pm also at Foley Stadium.
