This is last-minute, but I just learned about a series of public forums sponsored by the 495/Metrowest Partnership, the first of which is tonight in Westborough. The forums focus on transportation, economic development, and open space in 37 communities — including Southborough — located along the 495 corridor and in Metrowest. Here are more details:
With the 495/MetroWest Development Compact Forums fast approaching, I wanted to take a moment to remind you about this important opportunity for review and input on over 220 Development Areas and over 350 Preservations Areas in the 37 Communities within the study region. The community-identified Priority Development Areas, Priority Preservations Areas, and Infrastructure Needs will be released at the upcoming forums on June 15 in Westborough and June 21 in Boxborough (see flyer for Forum details). Help shape the future of the 495/MetroWest region by engaging with project partners on:
- How should open space be prioritized for preservation?
- How can we ensure continued economic prosperity in the region?
- How should transportation needs be addressed in relation to these priorities?
RSVP today by sending an email to info@495partnership.org and indicating which Forum you plan on attending. The Compact is slated to be completed by December 31, 2011, and will form the framework for public decision-making in land use regulation and infrastructure investment within the region over the next twenty years. We look forward to your participation in this important process!
