Paul Hart isn’t like most philanthropists. He doesn’t want to help people forever. “I hoped that by now, we wouldn’t be necessary,” the retired Southborough doctor said yesterday of his free medical clinics, the first of which he started in Worcester in 1993. (read more)

Mixed among the vendors selling vegetables or fruit at the Westborough Farmers’ Market is a sweet set of goodies from Yummy Mummy Brownies of Southborough. Started by Melissa Roiter, the brownies with a fudge base are baked right in her home. (read more)
Southborough’s Fords ride Pan-Mass in memory of Joan (Wicked Local Southborough)
When Ryan Ford was 8 years old he underwent treatment for leukemia. During chemotherapy, he suffered a stroke resulting in a seven-week coma. And when Ford recovered, he had to relearn all the basic skills such as how to walk and talk. Now 33 years old, the college graduate, lifeguard and teacher will participate for the second time in the Aug. 6 Pan-Massachusetts Challenge. (read more)
Pan Mass rider gears up for Saturday (NECN.com)
Chris Pierce of Southborough is on his last day of training for the Pan Mass Challenge. On Saturday, Chris will join thousands of other riders pedaling 200 miles to raise money for cancer research. It’s his first year taking part in the bike-a-thon, for him the ride is personal. His daughter, Olivia, spent the past year battling cancer. (read more)
