On Thursday Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westborough will hold a bone marrow registration drive. Originally the drive was to benefit long-time Southborough resident Anita Backer who is battling cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant. Happily, since the registration drive was announced earlier this month, Backer was matched with a donor.
That’s encouraging news for Backer, but there are plenty of others still waiting for a life-saving match. You can sign up to be a donor by stopping by Congregation B’nai Shalom (map) on Thursday between 4:00 and 8:00 pm. All that’s required is a simple saliva test. You can read more details in this post.
I am SO happy for Anita. Having a match is so very important and encouraging. Best wishes to her and her donor!
So happy Anita has a match. Very encouraging. My thoughts will be with you during this process.
