Police are conducting an internal investigation after a man they placed into protective custody Sunday morning was caught trying to cut himself with box cutters inside a cell.
According to police, the 62-year-old White Bagley Road resident tried to commit suicide while in a holding cell with a box cutter at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday.
Lt. Sean James said yesterday that the man was trying to harm himself but didn’t appear to be attempting suicide.
