Southborough historically has a good showing in the Boston Marathon, and this year is no different. Twenty-six Southborough residents – 16 women and 10 men – will cross the starting line in Hopkinton on Monday.
Many are doing their run for charity. Residents Rachel Fier, Leslie Hadden, and Deirdre Secrist are all running to benefit Art BeCAUSE, a breast cancer foundation started by Rachel’s mom, Ellie Anbinder, who is herself a survivor. You can see profiles of the three runners – and find links to donate on their behalf – on the Art BeCAUSE website (www.artbecause.org/special-page-runners.php).
Here’s a complete list of our friends and neighbors who will be making the 26.2-mile trek. Please join me in wishing them well!
