Did you notice the entry in yesterday’s police log in which an Ashland man was arrested for driving under the influence – for the fifth time? The Metrowest Daily News dug a bit deeper and got the details.
An Ashland man was arraigned yesterday in Westborough District Court after he nearly hit a Southborough Police cruiser Sunday, resulting in his fifth drunken driving charge, authorities said.
Officer Rick Mattioli wrote in court documents that he was driving north on Cordaville Road around 3:30 p.m. when he saw a white 2010 Ford Econovan traveling in the opposite direction cross over the double yellow center line twice.
“On the second time, the van almost hit the police cruiser and the vehicle traveling behind me, forcing both of us to move to the right,” Mattioli wrote.
