Bailey, an adorable West Highland Terrier from Southborough, has his sights set on the title. No, not Westminster. Bailey is vying for the prestigious honor of being voted New England’s Baseball-Loving Pet.

Owner Tim Daloisio entered Baily in the Boston.com reader contest and he was selected as a semifinalist out of more than 100 entries. Now he’s competing against the likes of Fenway, a Miniature Dachshund from West Roxbury, and Myrtle, the Pug from Duxbury.

“Bailey is ready to help the Red Sox offense. There is no questioning his physical or emotional commitment to the game,” Daloisio writes.

The prize for winning the contest isn’t peanuts (or Cracker Jacks). The owner of the top pet will be awarded a $2,000 Boston.com Tickets gift card powered by Ace Tickets and $240 worth of Purina brand pet food vouchers. Four semi-finalists will receive $240 worth of Purina brand pet food vouchers.

You can help Bailey represent Southborough by voting online at Boston.com. The contest ends tomorrow (Friday, May 11).

Bailey is very proud to be gracing “the blog” in town! I am certain this five minutes of fame will go straight to his head.
