You may have noticed that water levels in the Sudbury Reservoir are returning to normal this week after being lowered back in March for dam maintenance. I asked Massachusetts Water Resource Authority spokesman Len Cawley for an update and here’s what he had to say:
The work has been completed at Foss Dam (Rte 9), Sudbury Dam (Fayville) and the open channel lower dam (Deerfoot Road). Normal operating elevations have been returned to Foss Reservoir, and the open channel impoundment. We are bringing the Sudbury Reservoir back to the normal elevation band and will be there soon.
The remaining bit of work is the removal, cleaning, recoating and reinstallation of the wrought iron fence on Deerfoot Road.
Such a beautiful photo with this article. The colors are so vivid, I could almost feel a cool breeze and a splash of water. I’m glad the water levels are being restored, too. :-)
